Brakes and the FSA
Brakes has been working with the FSA for many years. As the Foodservice Engagement strategy developed we were involved in shaping their understanding of foodservice.

We were founder members of the Business and Industry Foodservice forum from which came our commitments to healthier eating. We now revise these regularly and they are published on the FSA website.
We have actively reduced salt in line with the FSA salt targets for 2010 and we are now discussing possible saturated fat reductions.
Where there are new initiatives which have a foodservice focus, such as displaying calories on menus we have been involved in stakeholder meetings and have individual meetings with the FSA to help them understand the complexity of the undertaking and identifying ways in which we can help.
The work of the FSA to improve consumer understanding of food and to improve health both through improved food safety and nutrition is in line with Brakes goals to offer safe and nutritious food.
We value the partnership working developed with the FSA and will continue to work with them to achieve common goals.
