Microwave Cooking Instructions
Microwave From Ambient: Lightly brush both sides of the pappadum with vegetable oil. Place the pappadum in the microwave and cover with kitchen paper before cooking on full power for 45 seconds or until expanded. (The pappadum may require turning to ensure even cooking.) Microwave instructions based on 650 watt oven. Do not exceed prescribed cooking time.
Pan Fry Instructions
Shallow Fry From Ambient: Immerse a pappadum in 2.5-4cm (1-1 1/2") hot oil and fry for 4-5 seconds until crisp and golden brown. Remove from oil and drain on paper kitchen towel. The pappadums should be served immediately.
Grill Instructions
Grill From Ambient: Place pappadum under a pre-heated grill and grill both sides until light to golden brown in colours.
Other Cooking Instructions
For best results, fry pappadums, however they can also be microwaved. To Fry: immerse a pappadum in 2.5-4 cm (1-1.5’) of hot oil (180ºC) and fry for 4-5 seconds until crisp and golden brown. Remove from oil and drain on paper kitchen towel. The pappadums should be served immediately. To Microwave (750W): lightly brush both sides of approximately 10 pappadums with vegetable oil. Place the pappadums in between a sheet of kitchen paper and place in the microwave oven. Microwave for 15 seconds on full power, turn the pappadums over and microwave for a further 15 seconds on full powder. Do not exceed prescribed cooking time.
