Natasha’s Law
On 1 October 2021, new legislation came into force across the UK. The Food Information (Amendment) Regulations 2019) require all food businesses to include full ingredients labelling on pre‑packed for direct sale (PPDS) foods; any allergens in the recipe must be clearly indicated by a unique typeface, e.g. bold.
The new regulations are commonly known as Natasha’s Law. They were brought in following the death in 2016 of 15-year-old Natasha Ednan-Laperouse, who suffered a fatal reaction after eating a filled baguette that contained potential allergens not identified on the label.
We’ve created a short PDF guide to help you to understand and apply the new law, including detailed product and allergen information; plus end-to-end recipe management, printer, and labelling solutions to help you achieve compliance.
