Stokes Sauces - Sachets that don't compromise
Founded in 2004, Stokes Sauces was created for food lovers who appreciate quality and flavour. Using only the fi nest ingredients, packing in more of what truly matters—more tomatoes in our ketchup, more eggs in our mayonnaise, more date purée in our brown sauce, and more fruit in our ‘extra’ jams. What makes Stokes special is the abundance in everything we make, because we refuse to compromise. Our goal is simple: to transform everyday meals into something extraordinary.
At the heart of Stokes Sauces is a dedication to quality, flavour, and sustainability, and this commitment extends beyond our bottles. As our Foodservice Director, Jim Fox, highlights: ‘A recent experience reminded me why we hold this approach so dear. While out with my two children, we ended up in a well-known fast-food chain. After ordering, I asked for some sauce, as I didn’t have any Stokes to hand. To my surprise, the server gave me six sachets of sauce for just two meals, saying, “Don’t worry, they’re free!” This made me think—everything in business comes at a cost, including sauce sachets. If large chains are giving them away so freely, how much profit is being wasted across the sector?
This thought reinforced why we developed our premium Stokes Sauce sachets. Unlike the standard 9-12g industry portions, where you often need three or four sachets to get what you’d use at home, we wanted to provide “Real World” portions. Our sachets contain 40g of our award-winning Tomato Ketchup, and 32g/32ml of our Brown Sauce, BBQ, Mayonnaise, and Tartare Sauce. With Stokes, in most instances, just one of our portions avoids using multiple smaller sachets, so it can reduce the cost to the business, whilst offering more flavour and creating less waste—ideal for businesses focused on both quality, and cost-efficiency.
Our sachet business has developed throughout the hospitality industry, from cafés, bars and independent restaurants, and we are now winning more and more larger businesses, as they are looking for an alternative to the generically stocked mainstream brands. As a cost to any business, we recommend keeping control of sachet distribution rather than leaving them out for customers to help themselves, which reduces unnecessary losses. This not only protects profits but ensures customers value the premium product.
In fact, some of our partners have successfully introduced a small charge for sauce portions by offering our premium sachets. Since Stokes Sauces aren’t seen as low-cost, everyday items, customers are willing to pay for the added quality, making this transition easier for businesses.
We’ve also supported self-catering holiday venues in creating additional revenue streams. Families often forget to bring their favourite sauces when travelling, and rather than purchasing a generic bottle of ketchup for £1-£1.50—which brings little profit—customers can enjoy a selection of our premium sauces throughout their stay. With Stokes’ “pick and mix” setup, customers can choose their favourites—whether it’s ketchup, brown sauce, mayonnaise, or BBQ. This model encourages repeat purchases, and even gives businesses the chance to sell a full bottle at the end of the holiday, allowing customers to take the flavour home and become loyal fans.
Stokes Sauces is more than just condiments—it’s about elevating every meal with exceptional flavour. Our premium sachet collection offers all businesses the opportunity to serve quality without compromise, while managing costs and reducing waste. By partnering with Brakes, you can provide your customers with a taste they’ll remember—and sauces they’ll return for.
