Everything you need to know about Tofu

What is Tofu?

Tofu is made from soya beans and has been a staple in Asian cuisine for over 2000 years. The production process of making it is very similar to cheese (soak soya beans in water, crush them to create a milk, heat the milk and then press it into a block) – it is also known as bean curd. Tofu often has a bad reputation for being bland with a soggy texture.

However, Tofoo Co have focused on modernising the product and giving it a new lease of life. Their products are made of just three ingredients - Soya beans, Water & Nigari (from saltwater), making the product extra firm solving the biggest complaint around texture. This is a key point of difference for Tofoo.

How to utilise Tofoo in your kitchen

Tofoo can be eaten Hot or Cold, giving you plenty of ways you can use it on your menu.

Typically, Tofoo is cubed but you can thinly slice, grate, pull, or even scramble it. By increasing the surface area, you can enhance the amount of flavour you want the tofu to absorb. Tofoo works well when battered or crumbed, adding that extra texture.
