CHUNKY POSH SAUSAGE ROLL RECIPE

Ingredients

 

• Ready made puff pastry sheets

• Sausage meat of choice

• Pork shoulder mince

• Ready cooked pulled pork

• Smoked diced pancetta

• Diced onion

• Chopped garlic

• Chopped rosemary

• Egg yolk for sealing & glazing

Heinz Tomato Ketchup

 

 

Method

 

1. Cook the onions, garlic and chopped rosemary on a low heat until softened. Remove from pan and add the diced pancetta and cook until browned and crispy – remove from heat and allow to cool

2. Combine the above with the meats, mix well and season with cracked black pepper & sea salt. Tip – if the mixture looks a little wet add some fresh breadcrumbs to bind

3. Lay the pastry on a floured work surface. Shape and form the sausage meat along the centre of the sheet. Brush the pastry with some egg along-side the sausage meat so as it will seal and fold over the pastry ensuring there isa tight seal

4. Brush with the remaining egg yolk and cut into generous size rolls – score lightly with a sharp knife 5. Bake in the oven for approx. 25 minutes or until golden and cooked through. Serve warm with a dipping bowl of Heinz Tomato Ketchup and garnishes of choice
